As Australia’s leading experts in microfibre towels, we are often asked one question: Do they really dry you?
The short answer is yes, they do. But to truly understand why, you need to know how microfibre towels work. Once you do, you will see why Will and Wind towels are considered the best quick dry towels in Australia for travel, gym and everyday use.
The science behind microfibre towels
Microfibre is made from a blend of polyester and polyamide. Each strand is ultra fine, about one hundredth the width of a human hair. During manufacturing, the fibres are split to create thousands of tiny gaps that pull water deep inside the towel.
A regular cotton towel, on the other hand, has thick unsplit fibres that simply push water around. That is why cotton towels feel heavy, stay damp and take ages to dry.
Split microfibre fibres behave differently. They draw moisture into the gaps between the fibres, helping you dry faster while the towel dries faster too.

Now, let's compare this to a regular towel. The fibres of a traditional cotton towel would look something like this:

Lightweight and compact
Will and Wind towels are light, compact and designed for travel. A full-size towel folds down small enough to fit into a backpack or carry-on. Because they weigh much less than cotton, they are easier to pack and carry whether you are heading to the gym, the beach or on holiday.
Each 160 cm by 80 cm towel contains billions of tiny split fibres that absorb efficiently without adding weight. That is what makes them the perfect lightweight travel towel.

Now, imagine the sheer number of microfibres, each measuring 1/100th of a strand of hair, present in just one of our beach towels. Our towels, measuring 160cm x 80cm, contain billions of these remarkable fibres. Each fibre provides ample space for liquid absorption while repelling non-liquids.
In fact, Will & Wind Towels can hold up to 4 times their own weight in liquid! Additionally, these towels dry incredibly fast (once wrung out) due to their open surface space and split fibres. Say goodbye to damp and musty towels that take ages to dry.
Super absorbent and quick drying
Our quick dry microfibre towels can absorb up to four times their weight in water. Once wrung out, they dry rapidly thanks to the open weave and breathable structure.
No more soggy towels or musty smells. Will and Wind towels dry fast and stay fresh, ready for your next swim, workout or adventure.

Built for performance and durability
Not all microfibre towels are the same. The blend, GSM rating and fibre type all affect how well a towel performs.
Here is what to look for:
> Fibre blend – The right ratio of polyester to polyamide improves softness and water retention
> GSM rating – Higher GSM means better absorbency and feel
> Split fibres – Always choose split fibres for true absorbency and quick drying
At Will and Wind, we use a premium 80/20 polyester to polyamide blend and a 200 GSM rating to create the perfect balance of softness, strength and absorbency.

Sustainable and beautiful
Every Will and Wind towel is made from recycled rPET bottles, giving plastic waste a second life. The designs feature stunning photography of Australian beaches, landscapes and marine life, so your towel looks as good as it feels.
This commitment to sustainability and design has made Will and Wind a trusted name in eco friendly travel towels worldwide.
