The ocean has always felt like home to me. Its calm, its strength and its rhythm have shaped who I am and how I see the world. It’s where I find peace, creativity and perspective. So when the opportunity came to take the helm of Will & Wind, a brand that celebrates Australia’s coastlines through sustainable design, it felt less like a career move and more like a calling.
Will and Wind is a Queensland-born brand that captures everything I’ve always loved: the ocean, the outdoors and the freedom of exploring Australia’s coastline. I grew up on the Gold Coast, spending nearly every weekend and holiday on Moreton Bay or over at Moreton Island. My childhood was filled with sandy feet, saltwater hair and long days spent exploring the shoreline. I would snorkel for hours, spot turtles, watch dolphins race alongside the boat and hope to catch a glimpse of a dugong.
My fascination with marine life started young. I did my school work experience at Sea World, absolutely convinced I would one day become a marine biologist. Unfortunately, it turned out that being endlessly curious about sea turtles and coral didn’t quite make up for my lack of enthusiasm for chemistry and long lab reports. So instead, I found another way to stay connected to the ocean — through storytelling, creativity and sustainability.
After more than 15 years working in marketing and brand strategy across tourism, finance and technology, I had spent my career helping other businesses tell their stories. When I came across Will and Wind, a business creating sustainable, design-led towels from recycled plastic bottles, I knew instantly it was something special. It combined creativity, sustainability and storytelling in a way that felt deeply personal to me.
Now, with a young family that includes my husband and our two beautiful and adventurous boys, Will and Wind is part of our everyday life. Whether we are spending the weekend at The Bay, heading off on a road trip or drying off after swimming lessons, our towels always come along for the ride.
Since taking over the business, I’ve introduced new products such as our Gym Towels with hidden zip pockets and Car Seat Towels that protect seats from sand, salt and sweat. We have brought back some of our much-loved original designs, introduced new photography collections and continued to grow our Custom Corporate Designs for businesses, resorts and events across Australia. Every product is made from recycled plastic bottles (rPET) and designed to be quick dry, lightweight and long lasting.
Our customers are at the heart of everything we do. They are people who care about sustainability, travel and the outdoors. They choose quality over quantity and love products that tell a story. Whether they are exploring the coast, camping inland or buying gifts for friends, our customers share our belief in buying better.
We also collaborate with businesses and retailers who share our values of sustainability and creativity. Together, we design products that reflect local identity and make sustainability part of their story. It has been wonderful to see Will and Wind towels appearing in eco-lodges, surf shops and corporate partnerships that value purpose-driven products.
For me, Will and Wind is more than a business. It is a way to connect people with the places they love and inspire care for the environment through thoughtful design. It celebrates the beauty of Australia’s coastlines and outback while creating something useful, meaningful and made to last.

You can also explore more about the rise of recycled plastic materials through the article The Rise of Eco-Friendly Travel: Why Sustainable Products are Taking Over which explores how travellers across Australia and around the world are becoming more conscious of what they pack, what they buy and the brands they support. From choosing reusable water bottles and recycled fabrics to supporting local makers and ethical tourism, people are rethinking how they experience the planet.
When you choose Will and Wind, you are not just buying a towel. You are joining a community that celebrates adventure, sustainability and the Australian spirit.
